Essential Skeleton 4 App Reviews

"From" & "To"

Awesome software, but does anyone here agrees that the articular surfaces of carpals and tarsals bones needs correction? It’s about "from" and "to". About the quiz mode, it is a little bit harder to put that names in the correct articular surfaces. The latin terminology is superficial and incomplete. Maybe it can be showed and turned on and off isolated from the english terms. I would like to “turn off” the english terms sometimes. Students from other countries too.

Very usefull tool

This app is really well made with excellent descriptions and a very useful and clear interface. As an anthropology student, this becomes a really usefull studying tool for osteology when far from the lab and the fact that it displays a complete articulate skeleton with single click acces to individual bone infomation helps a lot to figure out the actual organisation of the skeleton.

Awesome app

This app is absolutley amazing. everything you would ever need in the study of the skeletal system

Amazing Design and UI

I have to say this is one of the most beautiful Apps i have seen. I upgraded to the Essential Anatomy 3 App as it contains also the Skeleton system. Customer service is excellent. Great Job developing all these Apps

Perfect App for an Outstanding Price

This app is truely magnificent. I’ve only found one part of this app that could be improved, and that is the parts of the bone. I contacted the 3D4Medical crew and within an hour I’ve received a response. They had told me that this feature would be available to purchase through in-app purchases in the next update of Essential Anatomy, (Essential Anatomy 4). I will be purchasing Essential Anatomy 4 as soon as it comes out. Also if I had an iPad I would definitely check out Muscle + Skeleton Anatomy, as the feature that I wanted is part of that app. They are a great group and they have definitely won me over as a customer and promoter. Thank you 3D4Medical!

PLEASE READ

great app, im a student and find it great, i would just like to have the option to have the names of the bones in french as well as english. This option would make using the app allot better for the french/bilingual community

Amazing for MRT student

As a medical radiation tech student this is a useful application for memorizing the bone anatomy. Gives me a better perspective. Only thing is that I would put more test options

fix the probs with yosemite for retina

was awesome before now with yosemite update it crashes a lot, HELPPPP

Bad design compared with that of iPad edition

I love this app in iPad. Almost every detail is vividly shown. But when I began to use this in Macbook, I discovered that I cannot move the skeleton as I do in the iPad edition. When I used two finger move around and tried to move the skeleton,I failed. Suck! It’s just magnified or shrink. Why don’t you just make the Macbook edition looks like the iPad edition?

raennycloud

this app only has the name of the bone and thats all. It doesnt say what it does or anything…(that was what i was expecting). but if your up to being quizzed about memorizing the bones then go ahead. Otherwise its noy bad at all.

Cool app

Great app for educational purposes and for fun!

Essential Skeleton 2

Very nice. Good fpr bone identification. Shapes and contours are clear. Good general springboard for more advanced study where foramina, cartilages and more details may be needed.

Excellent!

After experiencing this app, I’m off to purchase Essential Anatomy. Information is detailed, well presented and the user interface is fantastic. Nice job!

Sweet App!

Really helpful and cool app! thank you for making this! really recommend to buy the other one!

Love this App!!

Very helpful when taking anatomy in highschool…

Really Awful for Medical Students.

Medical Students are expected to know all the bones in the app, because they are very basic. What this app does not have is ‘parts’ of subsections of bones. What Essential Skeletal Anatomy wouldn’t have Greater or Lesser Trochanter, where several muscles attach. Think of one, and trust me, its not in there…. Iliac Crest, Iliopubic Eminence, Ramus, Nuchal Line, not even Transverse Processes! Maybe for grade school students, but not Medical Students. I think the Skeletal System Pro app may have what I’m looking for, but the justification I have for giving this free app 2 stars, is because by no means does it provide a display or explanation of essential skeletal anatomy. Essential Anatomy 4 is a pretty good app though

Every medical student NEEDS this app and it’s FREE!

This app is super amazing! The detail of the model is second to none. I use it every day as a reference. Most of my classmates have it installed on their Mac devices too. I do have to disagree with the other reviewer - this is a free download and you expect to get bone landmark details, and are complaining that it’s really bad for medical students. C’mon on! I’d love if they included more detail too, but this is a free app, their paid version features bone landmarks. I’m all for supporting great developers and because I’ve found this app so beneficial I feel it’s my duty to defend it when silly reviewers make outrageous comments like that.

Not detailed enough for college anatomy

This is a pretty good app for someone who wants to learn the basics. However, it doesn’t include the many features of the bones (such as the foramina of the skull or the greater trochanter), only the names of the bones and articular surfaces.

Essential Skeleton

I agree with the reviews which say it is not the app for med or nursing students but it is perfectly adequate for general education on the skeleton for persons interested in knowing a bit more or for those with a skeletal problem who want to see what their doctor is talking about. It is easy to use and I had no crashes. Fast and fun to use. Grade school level or high school general studies. Not for college prep or college classes

Free, interactive, educational, 10 stars if it were allowed

I am amazed and grateful that a company is kind enough to give this educational product away. There is incredible detail in Essential Skeleton. You can zoom in to click on individual bones, add your own notes, hear the pronunciation of the bone by clicking on Sound, isolate the bone (or bones), choose from 4 different views of each bone, and click and drag to view and rotate the skeleton in real time 360 degrees! You can quiz yourself, choosing what parts of the body on which to assess your knowledge. I am not a medical student, just an interested plebeian, so I can’t speak to medical school needs. It’s free, though. I have found zero bugs, but if someone did, I see a link to Essential Skeleton 4 Support right above where I am typing this review.
